Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our growing medical device organization. This role will be responsible for managing cost accounting functions within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, deep manufacturing experience, and a CPA license. This is a hybrid role with 4 days onsite required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocations.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability.
  • Partner with operations to monitor production costs, inventory levels, and efficiencies.
  • Maintain and update standard costs and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory and cost-related journal entries.
  • Support financial close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Support audits and provide required documentation for internal and external auditors.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements related to cost accounting.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or Master's Degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device or regulated industry preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting audits in a regulated industry.
